Yes! Feeding BOM BOM alongside kibble, freeze-dried food, dehydrated treats, or canned food is a completely normal, long-term feeding style, and works well for most pets.

The main thing to get right: feed to the recommended daily amount.

  • Decide how much of your pet's diet you want BOM BOM to cover, and split their daily recommended intake accordingly — for example, if BOM BOM makes up half their diet, feed half their daily intake needs as BOM BOM and the rest as their usual food, rather than simply adding BOM BOM on top of a full existing portion.

  • Keep treats to a sensible minority share of the day's food — they're a supplement to meals, not a replacement for them.

  • If it's easier for your pet's digestion, feeding BOM BOM and other foods at separate meals (rather than mixed in the same bowl) is a fine option too.

Introducing the combination for the first time?

Like any new food, ease it in gradually over the first several days rather than swapping a full portion overnight — see our transition guide(How to Safely Transition to the BOM BOM Diet) for a ready-made step-by-step schedule you can follow.

Most pets adjust to mixed feeding without any issues once they're being fed the right amount. If you do notice ongoing loose stool after starting to mix foods, take a look at Why Might My Pet Have Loose Stool or Diarrhoea? — it walks through why this can happen and what to do.
