When should I give organic psyllium husk powder to my pet?

Organic Psyllium Husk Powder (for bowel regulation) can be given to your pet under the following conditions:

  • Amoebic parasites (e.g. giardia or coccidia), or gut worms (tapeworm, roundworm, hookworm): 1 flat teaspoon per 100g, mix into each meal, for no more than 3 consecutive days.

  • Pathogenic infections (e.g. clostridium): 1 flat teaspoon per 100g, mix into each meal, for no more than 3 consecutive days.

  • Constipation or to express anal glands or temporarily substituting in-meal bones: 1/2 flat teaspoon per 100g, mix into each meal.

  • Irritable Bowel Disease/Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBD/IBS): 1/4 flat teaspoon per 100g food, to be given during flare-ups or wet stool.

  • Foreign Objects: to cushion the gut from impaction and to facilitate gut transit of the foreign object: 1/2 flat teaspoon per meal till foreign object is passed. Seek veterinary assistance if object is dangerous!
